Mahurangi Riding School – Lesson Terms & Conditions (2026)
Term Dates & Lessons
Lessons at Mahurangi Riding School run on a term basis as follows:
Term 1 (9 weeks) – invoiced for 10 weeks
Monday 2 February – Sunday 5 April 2026Term 2 (11 weeks) – invoiced for 10 weeks
Monday 20 April – Sunday 5 July 2026Term 3 (10 weeks)
Monday 20 July – Sunday 27 September 2026Term 4 (10 weeks)
Monday 12 October – Sunday 20 December 2026
Please note: By booking a regular term space (private or group lesson), you are committing to the full term in both attendance and payment. Term fees are payable in full before the start of each term.
Lesson Cancellations & Weather Policy
Lessons run rain, hail, or shine. Riders should bring appropriate wet-weather gear.
If conditions are deemed unsafe for riding, lessons will continue unmounted with horsemanship or theory activities.
Private lessons will be rescheduled if riding is unsafe.
If an instructor is unavailable due to illness and a replacement cannot be found, the lesson will be credited and carried forward to the next term.
Rider Responsibilities & Conditions
By enrolling, riders and/or their parent/guardian acknowledge and agree to the following:
Riding involves inherent risks. Riders participate at their own risk.
Mahurangi Riding School, its directors, and employees are indemnified against any claims, liability, loss, or injury arising from participation in lessons or being on the property.
This indemnity applies at all times the rider is on Mahurangi Riding School premises or under the control of the school.
Riders must provide:
A helmet that meets current NZ safety standards
Suitable footwear (no sneakers/trainers)
Back protectors are recommended but optional
Mahurangi Riding School may use photographs and written feedback of riders for marketing purposes (website, social media, printed materials). By enrolling, consent is granted and the school is released from any related claims.
